How does a pure life insurance policy work?

You choose the sum insured and the term of the insurance. To cover your family, it is recommended to ensure an amount that is three to five times your annual gross income. The amount of premiums you have to pay for your life insurance depends on various factors. Risk factors such as accident-prone hobbies, like base jumping, pre-existing conditions, or lifestyle, like smoking, will increase your pure life insurance premiums. The type of work you do also affects the premium. For example, a roofer naturally has a higher accident risk than an office worker.

This is how we determinate your need.

On the basis of your information, we estimate the benefits that your relatives receive from the 1st and 2nd pillars. We deduct your current income from this amount. The resulting amount forms the gap to be covered. Any savings will be deducted from the gap and any debts will be added. For mortgages, we assume that 50% (Basic), 75% (Comfort) or 100% (Deluxe) of the mortgage will be paid off.

The duration of the insurance depends on how long your relatives should be financially secured. With Basic, your relatives should be covered until you reach retirement age or your youngest child reaches the age of 18. With Deluxe, your relatives should be covered until you reach retirement age or your youngest child reaches the age of 24. The Comfort option is a solution between Basic and Deluxe and allows your relatives to be comfortably financially secure.

For me, it is important to find a cheap solution that covers necessary financial needs. My dependents should have financial support until they can stand on their own feet again.
